When I received this album in my inbox I was expecting a Dark Ambient release – foreboding strings and melancholia. Well, there is lashings of Melancholia but none of the cliches of Dark Ambient. This album is to Dark Ambient what Post-Metal is to Black Metal.

I went looking for more about this mysterious artist that send me the demo. I drew a blank except for their Facebook page and realising that The Black Iris Militia was a prolific artist.

I admit it – I designed the album artwork. I wanted to convey the sentiment that the album gave me. They say a picture says a thousand words – please see above for the picture.
